Chieve

I love this recipe for parties. You can use any nice salt water white fish in place of the Snapper, Scallops and Crab work well too! Enjoy.

Note: for a fun alternative serve with Bibb Lettuce and make sea food wraps.


Chieve

  • 2 lbs of fish such as snapper, Bite size pieces

  • 2 lbs of shrimp, Bite size pieces

  • 10 limes, Juiced

  • 1 lemon, Juiced

  • 2 tablespoons of cumin

  • 1 large onion, chopped

  • 2 poblano peppers, chopped

  • 1 anaheim chile, chopped

  • 1-2 jalapenos, minced

  • 1/4 tsp salt

  • 1/2 tsp black pepper

  • 5 Roma tomatoes, chopped

  • 5 tomatillos, chopped

  • 5 avocados, chopped

  • 1/4 - 1/2 cup of fresh cilantro, minced

Combine fish, shrimp, lime juice, lemon juice, cumin, onions, all peppers, salt and pepper and stir. Make sure that all the fish is covered with the juice.

Cover and refrigerate for at least 4-8 hours until the fish and shrimp are cooked through (and are opaque in color). Add the remaining ingredients and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes more and then serve with your favorite tortilla chips.
