Apple Ginger Pheasant Phyllo Wraps

This is a great dish for a party as these little parcels are a great hand held food and are good at room temp.


Apple Ginger Pheasant Phyllo Wraps

  • 1/2 white onion, diced

  • 1 tablespoon fresh ginger root grated

  • 1/4 teaspoon of cinnamon

  • 1 apple, diced

  • 2 tablespoons of cornstarch

  • 6 pheasant breast, diced

  • 1/4 cup of prosciutto, diced

  • 1/2 teaspoon of salt

  • 1/4 teaspoon of pepper

  • 1 package of phyllo dough

  • 1-1 1/2 sticks of melted butter

    Pre heat the oven to 375 degrees.

    Heat a skillet with 2 tablespoons of olive oil over medium heat. Add the onions, ginger cinnamon, and apple and cook until the onions are translucent and then add the cornstarch and stir to incorporate. Remove from the heat and add remaining ingredients except the phyllo dough and butter.

    Make sure your filling station is ready so you can work quickly. Lay the phyllo dough out and cover with a damp dish towel. Working with one sheet at a time, fold the sheet in half and then brush with butter. Add a heaping tablespoon of the filling and then roll up tucking the ends like a burrito. Place on a baking sheet with a mat or parchment paper. continue until all the little parcels are made, or you run out of phyllo dough or filling.

    Bake until golden brown about 30 minutes.
